The Fed Is About To Test The Market 🏦
This FOMC meeting feels different to me.
The market is already leaning heavily toward a 25bp rate hike after August core CPI came in at 0.3% month-over-month.
But I don't think the rate decision itself will decide the biggest move.
What Im watching is the reaction after the announcement. If the Fed sounds aggressive about keeping rates higher for longer, BTC and tech stocks could struggle as liquidity gets tighter. Gold could also see some pressure from higher yields and a stronger dollar.
On the other hand, if the hike is already fully priced in and the Fed sounds less aggressive than expected, we could see a completely different reaction from risk assets.
Personally, Im not interested in guessing the first 5-minute candle. I’d rather wait for the market to show its hand, then decide whether BTC gives a clean long or short setup.
For me, the real trade is not the rate hike — it’s the market’s reaction to the Fed’s message.
