HORMUZ JUST TURNED HOT — OIL ABOVE $90. CRYPTO IS NEXT TO REACT
The U.S. struck two Iranian launchers on Larak Island, right beside the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran responded with missiles and promised further retaliation.
This is not just another geopolitical headline.
Roughly 20% of global oil flows through Hormuz, and the market reacted immediately: Brent jumped more than 2.5% to ~$90.3, while WTI moved above $85.
This is where #OilQuality becomes macro risk.
For crypto, I’m watching three assets:
$BTC — first gauge of whether capital treats this as risk-off or absorbs the shock.
$ETH — usually more sensitive if investors start reducing risk exposure.
$PAXG — the crypto-native gold proxy to watch if safe-haven demand accelerates.
The key question is no longer whether Iran and the U.S. will exchange words.
They already exchanged fire.
Now the market has to price the possibility that the world’s most important oil chokepoint becomes the battlefield again.
IF HORMUZ ESCALATES, THIS WILL NOT STAY AN OIL STORY.
