I initially thought DuskEVM was mainly about bringing EVM compatibility to @Dusk . After looking deeper, I started seeing the design differently.

What interests me is the combination of familiar developer tooling with infrastructure built around financial use cases. Developers can use Solidity and existing EVM tools, while Hedger is designed t0 support private yet verifiable transaction amounts.

Then there’s the potential application layer: tokenized assets, DeFi, lending and regulated financial workflows. Chainlink CCIP also adds an interesting piece by helping connect tokenized assets across chains.

I keep coming back to the fact that DuskEVM is already available on testnet. That gives developers room to experiment before mainnet rather than starting from zero after launch.

My take is that EVM compatibility is only the starting point. The more important question is whether developers can actually use Dusk’s privacy, settlement and data availability infrastructure t0 build applications that need more than a standard EVM environment.

I am less interested in the announcement itself and more curious about what gets built from it.
