When looking at @TermMax ,I got curious about one thing again: how much capital is actually moving instead of just sitting in the system?
Putting @TermMax ’s data next to DefiLlama data, I see around $34.1 million sitting in the protocol, of which $29.5 million has gone into loans. For me, this number is more worth looking at than just the TVL size: nearly 87% of the capital is being put into the market
I’m really interested in the part of the capital being put into loans on @TermMax ,rather than paying much attention to the $34.1 million. With fixed-rate, term-based borrowing, and a high utilization rate showing that capital is being put to work. But this number doesn’t tell us where the demand is coming from or whether it’s sustainable, so I’m still not rushing to a conclusion
An earlier data point recorded #termmax at $26.7 million TVL, while the capital put into loans was only $4.78 million. What impresses me is not only the increase in scale, but also how clearly the way the capital is being used has changed
I’m also curious about how @TermMax will expand this story. After the $4.25 million seed round on 30/11/2023, Vault V2, options and governance are the next things I want to watch. For me, how the project turns those resources into products is more worth watching than the amount of capital raised
I still want to keep some distance from this number. High capital utilization could be a sign that demand is improving, could reflect that the market has changed or could simply be driven by a few large loans. Just looking at TVL isn’t enough to read the story behind it
There’s one thing I haven’t seen through the current numbers: where the borrowed money is sitting and when it comes back. I want to track changes in the size of each position and its maturity over each period. If there’s older data, putting it next to the current figures would help me see the bigger picture more clearly before making any judgment.
