the part of @TermMax i keep coming back to is how fixed rates can completely change the way people manage leverage onchain.
with variable-rate borrowing, a position that looks comfortable today can become much more expensive when demand for liquidity suddenly increases. that uncertainty is easy to ignore in calm markets, but it matters a lot when volatility returns.
TermMax takes a different approach. by combining fixed borrowing costs with defined maturities, users can know much more about the economics of a position before committing capital.
and i think this becomes even more interesting when you add one-click leverage and vault strategies into the picture. instead of simply asking “where can i get the highest APY?”, the decision starts becoming about duration, cost of capital and whether the expected return actually makes sense over that period.
that feels much closer to how serious credit markets work.
of course, the technology alone isn’t enough. liquidity and consistent demand across different maturities will ultimately decide how useful these markets become.
that’s what i’ll be watching with @TermMax not just how much capital enters, but whether people actually start using fixed rates as part of their normal onchain strategy.
