Most people talk about @TermMax leverage as if it is one single product. It is not.

There are at least two very different risk models living under the same word.

Gearing Token (GT) leverage still works with an LTV framework. If the collateral moves far enough against you, liquidation remains possible. Alpha market positions, on the other hand, are structured as options. You pay a premium upfront, and that premium is defined as the maximum loss. @TermMax materials describe this as leveraged exposure with zero liquidation risk.

So the same brand, the same word “leverage”, produces two completely different answers to the question: what is my worst-case outcome?

One model keeps you exposed to liquidation. The other caps your loss at the premium you already paid. Neither is risk-free — they simply package the risk differently.

This raises a practical issue for users. When a protocol offers multiple products that all use the word leverage, the label itself stops being useful. You have to look past the marketing term and understand the actual risk engine underneath each product.

I’m more interested in whether users will learn to distinguish these models clearly, or whether the shared language will keep creating false assumptions about downside.
