The most expensive mistake in P2P isn’t always sending money to the wrong person.
Sometimes it’s simply releasing crypto too early.
Imagine receiving a message:
“Payment sent. Please release.”
You open the chat.
You see a screenshot.
Everything looks convincing.
But there’s one thing missing:
Your own confirmation.
That’s why one rule has become non-negotiable for me.
I don’t release crypto until I independently confirm the money has arrived in my account.
Technical point: Binance P2P uses an Escrow mechanism during the order, but the seller still needs to verify the actual payment before releasing crypto. The platform’s protection works best when the transaction stays within the official order flow.
That means:
No guessing.
No screenshots as final proof.
No pressure deciding when I release.
Just verification.
Self-critique: I used to think the dangerous moment was when the trade started.
Now I think the final click can be just as important.
Because once you release the crypto, you can’t simply take that decision back.
A few seconds of verification can be worth much more than a few seconds of speed.
Question: What should trigger release?
