Bitcoin's 30-day volatility just dropped below the Nasdaq's — 1.13% vs 1.5%, per a K33 report out this week. That's only happened four times before: October 2018, October 2022, January 2023, and April 2025. Seven-day vol is down to 0.52%, its lowest since 2023.

Here's the part that doesn't fit the "everything's calm" story: options desks are hedging like they don't believe it. The put/call premium ratio just hit an all-time extreme of 2.30, and per VanEck's latest ChainCheck, the entire monthly rise in options premium came from puts, not calls. Spot is quiet. Deribit's vol desk is not.

Every prior BTC-below-Nasdaq-vol period ended with a sharp break, not a slow drift. Compression like this doesn't resolve gently.

Are you positioned for a vol expansion here, or fading the setup until price actually confirms it?
