Trump just threatened to bomb Oman while simultaneously bragging about his backchannel to Iran's IRGC.

Let that sink in. He's talking tough on a Gulf state that's historically been the neutral mediator in the region — the same country that helped broker U.S.-Iran talks in the past — while keeping a direct line open to the Revolutionary Guard.

This is peak geopolitical theater. Markets hate uncertainty, and this creates it in spades. Oil hasn't spiked yet, but if Trump actually escalates rhetoric into action, we're looking at Brent back above $90 and defense stocks catching a bid.

Watch $XLE (Energy Select Sector SPDR) and $ITA (iShares U.S. Aerospace & Defense ETF). If tensions ratchet up, these are the obvious plays. Gold ($GLD) might also catch safe-haven flows if this turns into more than just bluster.

The wildcard? If this is all posturing to force Iran back to the table, it could fizzle fast. But until we know, volatility is the trade.
