Lost ~1000 USDT to One Careless Second — 4 Rules I Now Never Skip
A friend of mine lost about 1000 USDT on Binance P2P back in 2014. Not because of the market. He simply misread the price for one second and clicked buy.
Some merchants place attractive-looking ads at the top on purpose, knowing new or careless users will click fast. Once the trade closes, the response is always the same: "The price was clearly listed. You clicked yourself."
That one mistake became four rules he never skips now:
1️⃣ Choose reputable merchants
Gold badge, completion rate above 95%, a large number of completed trades, a long track record. Not the top price — the top profile.
2️⃣ Use your own name, always
Only your own KYC-verified bank account. Never receive or send on behalf of someone else, even a family member.
3️⃣ Read the payment instructions exactly
Follow the order's reference requirements and your bank's rules precisely. Don't add anything extra, and don't skip anything required.
4️⃣ Never release on a screenshot
A screenshot is not proof. Open your own banking app, confirm the money actually landed, then release. Not before.
With P2P, you rarely lose money because of the market. You lose it because of one careless minute.
Thirty extra seconds of checking is a lot cheaper than a 1000 USDT lesson.
