Two things happened this week that changed how I'm thinking.

Everyone's talking about how institutions are bullish on crypto, and on the surface, it looks that way. BlackRock and Goldman writing checks to regulated firms is huge, right? We see IBIT direct holdings rising 12% to 407,890 shares, which sounds super bullish for BTC.

But dig a little deeper. That same report shows IBIT put option exposure dropped roughly 53% to 143,300 underlying shares. Calls fell 85.2% to 148,000 underlying shares, while puts only slipped 1.4% to 715,000.

That's not exactly a picture of overwhelming bullish conviction. It looks more like a reduction in speculative upside bets (calls) while downside protection (puts) remained relatively strong.

Then there's the Hyperliquid situation with Unitree. Traders are valuing it at nearly $38 billion compared to its $9 billion IPO. That kind of valuation disconnect screams overleveraged bets just waiting to get flushed.

$BTC is holding around $63086.01, but the institutional picture isn't as universally green as many think. $ETH is at $1882.64 and other alts like $LINK are up 5.50% at $9.4690, which could be misleading.

My read is this: the market might be overestimating institutional enthusiasm for pure upside. There's a lot of smart money still keeping their downside covered, and some parts of the market are getting way ahead of themselves.

Stay cautious out there. Don't get caught in the hype.
