Where P2P Protection Ends

Lately, I’ve spent quite a lot of time looking into Binance P2P in Vietnam, and I walked away with more thoughts than clarity. Strangely, I see that as a good sign.

If I understand Binance P2P too quickly, I usually assume I’ve missed something. There’s one particular thing that keeps bringing me back.

I started with the expectation that this was simply a new, more convenient payment system. Instead, I found Binance “plugging” directly into the payment channels that Vietnamese people use every day, rather than trying to create an entirely new system.

The more I looked into it, the more I realized that familiarity itself is the most dangerous weapon. The interface makes bank transfers and e-wallets look equal, equally “easy”. Simplicity has swallowed the distinction.

I kept asking myself: “Which method is actually faster, safer or more vulnerable to fraud?”

Maybe I’m looking at the wrong problem.

What I’m still struggling to understand is: when crypto is locked in escrow but real VND still moves entirely outside through a banking app or e-wallet - Binance cannot see it, touch it or control it - then where does the real layer of protection lie?

I don’t think I’ve completely answered that.

Right now, I care less about surface-level convenience or familiar logos and more about the deeper mechanism: Binance is simply building an escrow layer on top of a payment system it does not own. Checking the account name, amount, transfer content and confirming “I have paid” still depends on the honesty and carefulness of the user.

That’s often where the most meaningful details are hidden.

After the Trade - I Keep My Evidence to Protect Myself

Next, I’m looking into verification and transaction evidence - where the buyer checks the recipient’s name, keeps proof in the chat and confirms at the right time.

I have a feeling that’s where my current understanding will either stand - or completely change. $BANK $APR $BR
