Previously, I almost took it for granted that when selling a large amount of USDT on Binance P2P, as long as the money arrived in the correct account, with the correct amount, the transaction would be safe.
To sell a large amount, you have to accept a little risk.
I had gotten used to looking at most P2P transactions that way.

Until I read about a situation where a seller sold nearly 100 million but still had to cancel the order after more than half an hour of appeal, one detail made me stop.
What caught my attention was not that the money had been transferred successfully,
but that the buyer transferred from an account that did not match the registered name on Binance.
I had to read more about escrow, Appeal, and how Binance verifies payments before I realized that this situation was not as simple as I thought.

At first, I thought that once the money had arrived in the correct account, the transaction was basically complete.
Then I realized that the focus was not on the money having reached the seller,
but on how the system requires the transaction to be canceled when the payment account does not match the registered name,
while the safety conditions still have to be maintained.

From my current perspective, the real difference lies in the effort
to separate “having received the money” from “the transaction fully meeting the system’s conditions”
instead of considering these two things to always have to go together.

That made me rethink the trust model.

Binance P2P doesn’t change the principle of risk control, but how users comply with the rules already built into the process.

Responsibilities are separated again, and so are the assumptions of trust.

I still feel I don’t fully understand all the implications of this design.

Maybe the deeper question isn’t “the money has arrived, so why cancel?” but: “when verification rules outweigh the actual flow of funds, what risks is the seller protected from and what new risks are they taking on?”
