I don’t know if anyone else does this 😅, but whenever I explore a new protocol, I usually pay the most attention to how everything works when things go right. I rarely stop and think about what happens if something doesn’t go as planned. That thought kept coming back while I was reading about Trustless Bitcoin Vaults (TBV).

So I spent a little more time exploring @BabylonLabs_io and the more I read, the more I realized that good infrastructure isn’t only about the normal path. What caught my attention was that TBV lets native Bitcoin be used as collateral without wrapping, bridging, or trusting intermediaries, while also thinking about situations where users may need an alternative path if the expected process isn’t completed on time. 🤯

Then I started thinking about how we judge trust in crypto. Most of us only notice a system when something goes wrong. Reading about Babylon reminded me that the best infrastructure isn’t just designed for ideal conditions. It’s also designed to give users confidence that there are clear processes in place if unexpected situations arise.

I’m still learning as I continue exploring the TBV public testnet 😂, and every time I read a little more, I notice another design decision that I overlooked before. But I walked away feeling that trust isn’t only built by what happens on a good day. It’s also built by how thoughtfully a protocol prepares for the days that don’t go exactly as expected.
