Shinhan and Visa Move Deeper Into Stablecoin Payments
South Korea’s financial sector is taking another step toward exploring stablecoin-based payments. Shinhan Financial Group and Visa are working together to explore stablecoin infrastructure, AI-powered payments and new B2B and B2C payment models. The initial focus includes testing stablecoin issuance, remittances, redemption and stablecoin-based card payment settlement. What makes this interesting is the combination of traditional banking infrastructure with Visa’s global payment network and stablecoin technology. If these tests prove practical, stablecoins could become more connected with existing payment and settlement systems rather than operating separately from traditional finance. The AI component is another area worth watching. Both companies are also exploring AI-powered payment models, suggesting the partnership is looking beyond simple crypto transfers toward more programmable financial services. However, it is important to remember that this is still at the testing and development stage. It does not mean a fully commercial stablecoin service is already live in South Korea. For me, the bigger signal is the growing interest from established financial institutions in using stablecoins as potential payment infrastructure. Stablecoins may not transform traditional finance overnight, but partnerships like this show how the two worlds could gradually move closer together. DYOR. Meta Reaches Major Settlement Over Teen Safety Meta has reached a major agreement with a bipartisan group of U.S. attorneys general over allegations related to social media’s impact on teenagers. The original case involved 29 states, while the broader agreement now includes 52 state and territory attorneys general. The deal also includes stronger safeguards for teen users, including screen-time limits, nighttime protections, muted notifications during school hours, and additional parental controls. The financial side is significant too, with the settlement reported at up to $16.68 billion, while Meta describes the broader agreement as approximately $18 billion, including conditional amounts tied to other platforms. The bigger takeaway is clear: Social media platforms are facing growing pressure to make teen safety a core part of their products not just an optional feature. For users, parents, and regulators, the next question is whether these changes will create meaningful improvements in how young people use social media. A major settlement, but the real impact will be measured by what changes in practice. #USStocksCloseHigherNvidiaGains2%
Ethereum Takes a Step Toward Quantum-Resistant Staking
#Ethereum developers are working on an early step to prepare the network’s staking system for a future where quantum computing could challenge today’s cryptography. A draft proposal would introduce a more flexible validator deposit system that could support different types of cryptographic keys, including future quantum-resistant options. Why does this matter? Ethereum validators currently use BLS signatures as part of the staking system. While quantum computers are not currently capable of breaking Ethereum’s cryptography, researchers are already preparing for the possibility that this could become a serious issue in the future. The goal is simple: prepare before the threat becomes urgent. What does the proposal suggest? The proposed deposit contract could allow validators to use different signature schemes rather than relying permanently on one format. This could make it easier for Ethereum to introduce stronger, quantum-resistant cryptography later. The existing BLS format would not simply disappear immediately. The transition would be designed to happen gradually. One particularly interesting idea is an eventual mechanism that could stop the network from accepting new BLS validator deposits. That would not mean existing validators would automatically be removed. Instead, it could help Ethereum gradually move toward newer cryptographic standards. This is still an early proposal It is important not to confuse this announcement with an immediate Ethereum upgrade. The proposal is still in the draft stage, and additional research and protocol changes would be required before any major transition could happen. There is also no single quantum-resistant solution being activated today. Why this matters for Ethereum’s future For me, the most interesting part is the preparation. Blockchain networks are difficult to upgrade when billions of dollars and millions of users depend on them. Waiting until a cryptographic threat becomes urgent could create unnecessary pressure. Preparing early gives developers more time to test new systems, coordinate validators and build a safer migration path. So this isn't really about a quantum computer threatening ETH today. It is about making Ethereum more adaptable for tomorrow. Draft proposal, not a finalized network upgrade but an important conversation for the long term security of Ethereum staking. BNB Chain + Mastercard A notable development for the crypto payments space: BNB Chain has joined Mastercard’s Crypto Partner Program. The partnership connects BNB Chain with Mastercard’s broader digital-asset ecosystem and highlights the growing focus on making blockchain technology more useful for real-world payments. For me, the bigger story isn’t just the announcement. It’s the direction. When established payment networks and blockchain ecosystems move closer together, the gap between traditional payments and on-chain infrastructure can become smaller. The next step is execution how these partnerships translate into actual products, users, and payment use cases. Adoption matters more than headlines. DYOR. Not financial advice. #bnb $BNB
Boreas is the kind of #Dusk update that’s easy to overlook. No flashy headline. The interesting part is what changed underneath: how transactions are processed and interpreted across the network. That kind of work rarely gets the same attention as a new feature. But in my view, consistency is one of those things you only notice when it goes wrong. For Dusk, upgrades like Boreas show that improving a blockchain isn’t always about adding more. Sometimes it’s about making the existing system behave more reliably. #dusk @Dusk $DUSK
I usually notice new features first. With Dusk, I’m starting to pay more attention to the upgrades nobody really talks about. Boreas is a good example. It wasn’t just about adding another shiny feature. The upgrade changed how transactions are handled and interpreted across different parts of the network. That sounds boring until you think about what happens when different nodes could interpret the same transaction differently. Consistency matters. For me, that’s one of the underrated parts of blockchain development: sometimes progress is simply making the network harder to confuse, break, or interpret incorrectly. That kind of upgrade may not create much hype. But it can matter a lot underneath the surface. #dusk @Dusk $DUSK
Trump-linked wallets move $3.39M in USDC Blockchain data reportedly shows wallets linked to the Trump team received around $3.39M USDC through $TRUMP liquidity add/remove activity. The key point isn’t just the amount it’s the on-chain movement. Large wallet activity can give traders useful context, but it doesn’t automatically mean a broader sell-off is coming. Always verify the wallet data before drawing conclusions. #SolanaGovernanceVoteToDoubleDeflationRate #GoldNearsThreeMonthHigh
WLFI Co-Founder Criticizes Justin Sun WLFI co-founder Zak Folkman criticized Justin Sun, calling his comments on what is “right” ironic while pointing to regulatory issues involving HTX. Folkman also referenced past regulatory action and a reported SEC settlement related to alleged wash trading. The broader takeaway is worth considering: in crypto, strong opinions about what others should do often attract attention, but regulatory history and documented facts matter more than online arguments. Rather than taking either side, it’s better to verify the underlying claims and understand the context before forming an opinion. Crypto moves fast. Information should move carefully.
