everyone thinks an imf stamp of approval means the floodgates just opened for crypto but actually it usually means more strings attached than anyone wants to admit.
traders see the headline and immediately fomo into $btc or $aave thinking this is the institutional wave, then get left holding when the conditions actually show up. missing the exit because you bought the rumor is a special kind of pain ngl.
this plays out the same way every time. imf approves a deal or a framework and the feed fills up with wagmi posts. but look closer ser and theyre almost always pushing tighter controls, more reporting on $usdt movements, less room to move size without kyc. greed sitting at 70 makes it worse because nobody wants to be the one sitting out the news.
its a case study in not reading past the title. the market prices the word "approves" then reprices the actual terms a day later. if youre still treating these as pure green lights youre basically volunteering as exit liquidity.
anyone else seeing this pattern or am i just being a pessimist?
