A new development in Bitcoin mining is putting the spotlight back on BIP-110, a controversial proposal aimed at restricting certain types of non-financial data on the Bitcoin blockchain.
A miner operating through the OCEAN pool recently chose not to signal support for BIP-110,despite the pool backing the proposal by default for some miners.
The bigger picture is even more interesting:
🔹️BIP-110 currently has only a small share of Bitcoin's hashrate signal support.
🔹️The proposal needs much broader miner support to achieve the intended activation path.
🔹️The August signaling period could become an important test of where Bitcoin miners actually stand.
This isn't simply about mining; It's another example of the debate over who should influence Bitcoin's future_miners, node operators, developers, or the wider community?
What do you think: Should BIP_110 move forward, or should Bitcoin keep its current data rules?
