$CIFR.US stock just dropped 16%. Honestly, nobody's shocked—Q2 was brutal. They pulled in $24.8 million in revenue, nowhere near Wall Street’s $32.5 million target. But the real gut punch was the net loss: $267.5 million. That’s five times worse than last year.
Still, Bernstein isn’t budging. They kept their Outperform rating and still have a $32 price target. That’s a big leap from Tuesday’s close. So, what are they seeing? Bernstein points to Cipher’s project pipeline. The company’s working on three huge data centers, contracts signed, all set to finish by mid-2027.
Now, here’s a twist. Texas decided to freeze new data center connections while they check on the power grid. Sounds like bad news, right? Bernstein doesn’t think so. With fewer new players, companies like Cipher—who already have their energy contracts sorted—could actually come out ahead.
There’s some good news, too. Cipher wrapped up their Black Pearl center two months early, and it’s already generating cash.

His rationale has nothing to do with personal character; it is based on the “compute-power math” of infrastructure: Tesla’s AI factories are equipped with a large amount of Nvidia hardware, and Tesla’s fleet is the largest real-world data collection system on Earth.
