Bitget Security Incident What Happened?
The crypto world got another reminder that big exchange doesn’t mean zero risk. 😳
On September 24, Bitget reported unauthorized transfers from some of its hot/warm wallets. The initial estimate was around $351.6M, later updated to approximately $387.5M based on further on chain tracing.
Bitget says its cold wallets remained secure and that the affected amount is covered by its User Protection Fund. Withdrawals were temporarily paused while the security investigation continued.
For me, the lesson is simple:
Don't keep everything on one exchange
Never share your seed phrase or private key
Always verify links before connecting your wallet
And remember: crypto always comes with risk.
