Binance Summer Camp: What I’ve Learned So Far

The first two lessons of Binance Summer Camp have focused on two things every crypto user needs to understand: account security and safe ways to fund and move crypto.

1. Protect your Binance account

One of the biggest takeaways is that account security starts with simple habits. Using a strong and unique password, enabling 2FA with an authenticator app, setting an Anti Phishing Code, and using the Withdrawal Whitelist can add extra layers of protection.

It is also important to know how phishing works. Instead of clicking random links from emails, group chats or search results, use the official Binance website or a trusted bookmark. Binance Verify can also help check whether an account or link is genuine.

Most importantly, never share your password, 2FA code or verification codes, with someone claiming to be support.

2. Stay careful when funding and trading

The second lesson focused more on deposits, P2P and moving crypto on chain.

When making your first crypto deposit, sending a small test amount first is a safer way to confirm that the wallet address and network are correct before sending a larger amount.

For P2P trading, never release crypto just because someone sends a payment screenshot. Always check your own bank or payment account and confirm that the money has actually arrived.

It is also important to keep your transactions on the platform, choose suitable counterparties, and keep records of your payments.

The main lesson

Crypto safety is mostly about slowing down and checking things before you click, send or release anything.

A fake link, wrong network, incorrect wallet address or fake payment screenshot can cause a serious loss. Taking a few extra seconds to verify can make a big difference.

So far, the biggest takeaway for me is simple: don't rush your crypto transactions. Verify first, then proceed.
