Casey Rodarmor, the creator of Ordinals, is among four board members involved in a new initiative. The Ordinals protocol team has introduced a non-profit organization called the 'Open Ordinals Institute' to support their open-source development.

This institute is a registered 501(c)(3) California-based public charity that will accept Bitcoin donations to fund the protocol's development by supporting their core group of developers. The main objective of this initiative is to develop user-friendly tools that allow less technically proficient users to create Bitcoin Digital Artifacts with ease.

The initiative's goal is not only to support developers but also to provide funding for designers, reviewers, researchers, educators, and other contributors who are essential in enhancing and advocating for the technology.
