Bitcoin inflows to Binance from Mid-Size Investors reached 6,950 BTC on August 24, while BTC was trading above $78,000, marking only the third time since January 2026 that flows from this cohort exceeded 5,000 BTC.
The two larger Binance spikes occurred on February 6 at 10,600 BTC, when Bitcoin traded near $67,200, and on June 6 at 8,950 BTC, when BTC was around $60,800.
The recurring pattern is notable because large Binance inflows from this investor group have historically appeared close to major Bitcoin bottoming or stabilization phases.
Most of the larger spikes visible in the data were not followed by immediate sharp declines, suggesting that elevated exchange inflows from this cohort have not consistently translated into stronger downside pressure.
The August 24 move was also broad across major exchanges.
Mid-Size Investors sent approximately 5,100 BTC to Coinbase and another 3,000 BTC to Coinbase Prime, taking their combined inflows to 8,100 BTC, roughly 16.5% above Binance's 6,950 BTC.
However, the historical price reaction appears different across venues.
While Binance inflow spikes from this cohort have frequently coincided with bottoming or recovery phases, elevated flows to Coinbase and Coinbase Prime have more often been followed by sharper Bitcoin pullbacks.
This divergence does not establish causation, but it highlights an important difference in how similar-sized Bitcoin holders have interacted with major exchanges during previous market turning points.
