*Is AI and Real-Time Data the Biggest Problem for Smart Contracts?*

Smart contracts are powerful, but they have one big limitation - they cannot fetch data from outside the blockchain by themselves.

If you want a smart contract to get ETH price, run AI, or fetch live market data, you need Offchain Computing. And that's where *Marlin Oyster* is changing the game.

*What is Marlin Oyster?*

Marlin Oyster is a serverless, decentralized cloud for Web3. Think of it like AWS Lambda but fully decentralized and verifiable.

Instead of running your code on a centralized server, you deploy it inside a secure enclave (TEE). No one, not even Marlin, can tamper with your code or data.

You can run JavaScript functions that smart contracts can call directly.

*How it Works with http://EthRate.sol - A Real Example*

Recently I was working on an Offchain Computing project where we built `EthRate.sol`.

The workflow is simple but powerful:

1. We deploy our serverless function on Marlin Hub (hub.marlin.org). It fetches live ETH price from Binance API.

2. After deployment, we get a *transaction hash / codeHash*. This is the unique ID of our code.

3. We add that codeHash into our `script/deploy/EthRate.ts` file. This links the onchain contract with the offchain code.

4. Finally, we deploy `EthRate.sol` smart contract. Now anytime someone calls the contract, it triggers the Oyster function and gets verified, real-time data on-chain.

This makes the contract both decentralized and intelligent.

*Why is this Important for 2026?*

1. *For AI Agents:* Binance AI Pro and other AI agents can use Oyster to run complex AI models offchain and send results onchain securely.

2. *For DeFi:* No more relying on centralized oracles. You can build your own custom oracle in minutes.

3. *For Security:* Code runs inside TEE, so it's tamper-proof and verifiable.

Offchain computing is not the future, it is already here. If you are a developer, you should definitely try deploying a function on Marlin Oyster.
