I USED TO THINK SAFE P2P TRADING MEANT BEING SLOW AT EVERY STEP.
THEN I FOUND A 15-MINUTE RULE THAT MADE ME RETHINK THAT.
Binance’s seller instructions say that after the seller confirms receiving the buyer’s full payment, the order should be completed within 15 minutes.
I like that rule because it separates two very different moments.
Before I confirm the payment, I want to be slow.
If the order says 18,920,000 VND, I want to see 18,920,000 VND in my own banking app.
I check the amount, the payer information and the correct order.
A screenshot doesn’t make me faster.
A “sent already” message doesn’t make me faster.
Escrow gives me time to get those checks right.
But once I have personally confirmed the full payment, the situation changes.
Keeping the crypto locked for another hour “just to be extra safe” is no longer the same kind of caution.
The buyer has already done their part.
That made me notice something I had missed in P2P:
the moment before certainty and the moment after certainty need different behavior.
Before the order, I check the counterparty profile and terms.
During payment, I keep the conversation inside Binance P2P and verify the money myself.
If something still doesn’t match, I pause and use the Order ID, chat and Appeal/Support process instead of guessing.
But when everything does match and I’ve confirmed full payment, I finish the order.
I used to think “careful” simply meant “slow.”
Now I think it means:
Take your time until the facts are clear.
Then don’t create a new delay after they are.
