**Crypto Robberies on the Rise in Western Europe, Says Blockchain Investigator**
Blockchain investigator ZachXBT has reported a surge in in-person crypto robberies, particularly in Western Europe. In an Oct. 10 post, he noted an increase in home invasion thefts targeting crypto holders, with victims being held at gunpoint and forced to transfer their assets.
ZachXBT highlighted a June 2024 incident where a victim lost $4.3 million in crypto after thieves, who had obtained his personal information through a data breach, posed as delivery personnel. The stolen funds remain in dormant wallets.
He advises crypto holders to avoid sharing personal details and flaunting their holdings on social media to reduce risks. GitHub data shows a worrying trend, with 17 offline crypto theft incidents in 2023 alone.
In a notable case, former Revelo Intel CEO Nick Drakon was robbed and threatened, leading to his resignation. Additionally, a Florida man was convicted for leading multiple violent crypto thefts between December 2022 and July 2023.
