HBO Documentary Suggests Peter Todd as Bitcoin's Creator: Is He the Real Satoshi Nakamoto?
According to Politico, Peter Todd is currently 39 years old, meaning he was 23 when Satoshi Nakamoto released the Bitcoin whitepaper on October 31, 2008. While it's not impossible for Todd to have created the system at that age, it seems unlikely.
The Bitcoin protocol itself is relatively simple from a technical standpoint, but the economic and financial insights behind Satoshi's whitepaper are far more sophisticated. It’s hard to imagine a 23-year-old Todd having developed such complex reasoning.
Additionally, Todd graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto, which suggests he wasn’t involved in finance or economics at the time. However, Todd has said that he was introduced to the cypherpunk movement at 15, back in 2000.
Despite these speculations, Todd has publicly denied being Satoshi Nakamoto.
