**Crypto Wallets Deter Gamers from Web3 Games, Report Finds**
A new industry report titled "The Future of Web3 Gaming is Competitive: Global Gaming Report 2024" reveals that complicated cryptocurrency wallets are a major barrier for gamers trying Web3 games. Produced by Elympics, the Blockchain Game Alliance (BGA), and PlayToEarn, the report surveyed 1,000 gamers globally.
Key findings:
- Over 10% of gamers cited complex crypto wallets as their main deterrent.
- 7.3% don't see the value in Web3 gaming.
- 2.4% are satisfied with traditional Web2 games.
- 9.1% simply aren't interested in blockchain-based gaming.
Despite these challenges, Elympics CEO Michal Dabrowski believes that the entry of infrastructure players like TON could shift the landscape, making Web3 games more accessible and appealing. Telegram’s Mini Apps, for instance, are designed to simplify user interaction with crypto, potentially boosting adoption.
As more developers enter the Web3 space, the report suggests that high-quality games could attract a broader audience, overcoming current barriers.
