Make sure to keep the Roadmap link handy: https://www.holochain.org/roadmap/ Our team has been hard at work addressing significant challenges, and we are preparing to launch a visual refresh that reflects our recent progress on 0.7 milestones and 0.6.1 backports. You should expect to see the board layout change very soon.

Applying tension is the only way to build muscle, and that same principle applies to network infrastructure. 💪 We never worry about finding bugs while operating in the Wind Tunnel; in fact, we actively chase them down. Any issue caught during these tests represents a disaster avoided in the live environment. Creating resilience requires dedication.

We hope you are having a great Saturday. ☕ If you were given the chance to stress test a specific part of the internet as it stands today and watch it fail, what would you choose? Our vote goes to centralized cloud outages.

We bypassed flashy features to dedicate the year to Kitsune2 and Warrants, ensuring we established a foundation solid enough to build the new internet on. This strategic focus ensures that "the network does what a network should do." If you have not seen it yet, our 2025 Retrospective is a great read for this weekend. Read:

Managing distributed systems involves significant challenges, but the validation process should never be opaque. Driven by a commitment to complete openness, we provide you with a direct, real-time view of our Wind Tunnel stress tests. A green status confirms that everything is functioning as intended, while a red indicator prompts us to resolve the issue immediately. There is a noticeable surge in positive energy across the developer community this week. The consensus is that Fast sync leads directly to developer happiness. Is anyone else currently evaluating the new 0.6.x updates? Please leave your feedback and observations in the comments section.

We are happy to report that the Reliability milestone has been successfully completed. At the same time, our team continues to actively develop versions 0.6.1 and 0.7. We believe in the importance of maintaining complete openness, so we invite you to view the comprehensive status of the Holochain project on our official Roadmap. https://www.holochain.org/roadmap/ #Holochain #OpenSource

Usually, gaining the best performance requires waiting for the "Next Big Version" (0.7). However, that is not the case this time. We are backporting Iroh and other improvements to Holochain 0.6.1, which means you don't have to wait for 0.7 to become stable to feel the difference. The upgrade is coming soon, so prepare your nodes. 🌪️

"This is definitely the best version of Holochain I have ever seen." — Nicolas Luck, @flux_socia We just received fresh feedback from the Flux team regarding their testing of the new networking stack. ✅ "Syncing seemed much faster." ✅ "Before, it was fine until... it stalled. Not anymore." ✅ "Iroh FTW." When builders who push the limits say it works, we know that we are on the right track.

Roadmap Update: Holochain 0.6.1 and 0.7 have officially moved from "Up Next" to "In Progress." 🏗️ Here is the important part: We are not making you wait for 0.7 to gain the performance boost. Most improvements destined for 0.7—including major networking upgrades—are being backported to 0.6.1. You get the speed sooner than you think. #Holochain #RustLang #DevUpdate #Roadmap

In all honesty: A year ago, our documentation was often too conceptual. While great for theory, it was tough for actual building. The new Holochain Build Guide resolves this. It shows you exactly how to use every single function and tool. Less philosophy, more practical application. If you struggled with the docs before, take another look. Start here:

Big features make headlines, but small fixes make happiness. This includes graceful re-connections, correctly calculated sync sessions, and flexible WebRTC libraries. Collectively, these small updates from 2025 mean the codebase behaves exactly the way you expect it to. Happy coding. 💻

Validation without consequences is merely a suggestion. In 2025, we have turned on the consequences, and Warrants are now functional. If an agent breaks the rules, they are blocked at the network transport level. The immune system is live. Read more about the Year of Stability:

Prioritizing network stability in 2025 wasn't just an internal milestone for us; it was about empowering our ecosystem partners to achieve their targets. 🤝 Establishing a dependable foundation enables partners such as @hello_volla (Privacy Mobile) and @coasys_dao (Semantic Interoperability) to confidently drive the adoption of their platforms. We provide the critical infrastructure, allowing you to focus on serving your users.

The phrase "it works on my machine" falls short when it comes to a distributed network. That is why Wind Tunnel achieved production readiness in 2025. We are now executing automated scenarios across thousands of nodes, detecting bugs that only manifest under massive load. We identify the edge cases before you do.

Do you recall the days when a DHT sync could drag on for 30 minutes? ⏳ We certainly do, and we have resolved it. Following the integration of Kitsune2 last year, synchronization times have dropped to under a minute in most scenarios. This efficiency wasn't achieved through tricks, but rather through a fundamental rethink of peer discovery. Fast. Predictable. Done.
