Every October, as the air turns cooler and Halloween approaches, I’m always reminded of the crazy memory my friends and I made last year. We’ve had a long-standing tradition of getting together at my place every Halloween to eat comfort food, watch classic horror films, and catch up. But for Halloween 2025, we decided to do something a little extra special. Since I’d been deeply involved in the crypto community and following Binance closely throughout that year, I thought it would be a cool idea to mix our passion for Web3 with a traditional Halloween activity.
A couple of days before Halloween last year, we headed out to a local market to search for the perfect pumpkin. After browsing through several stalls, we spotted a massive, bright orange pumpkin with a thick, sturdy stem. The plan was to spend the evening carving a unique jack-o'-lantern, lighting it up, and sharing scary stories once darkness fell.
Sitting around my dining table with our knives and scoopers, my friend suggested carving a standard creepy face with sharp, jagged teeth. But I wanted to make it unique. I proposed carving the iconic Binance diamond logo right onto the front of the pumpkin. Getting the geometric balance right on a tough, curved pumpkin surface was definitely harder than I thought. I carefully sketched the outline first with a black marker, taking my time to align the diamonds evenly. Then, using a small, precise carving tool, I slowly worked my way through the thick rind.
It took nearly an hour of tedious effort, but when we finished, the result was incredible. We cleaned out the remaining seeds, dropped a small candle inside, and lit it up. The warm golden light radiated perfectly through the carved Binance logo, casting sharp, beautiful geometric patterns across the dim room. It looked like a glowing artifact straight out of a sci-fi fantasy movie.
As night fell and midnight approached, we shut off all the main lights in the house. The only light came from the soft orange flicker of our custom pumpkin resting on the coffee table. Wrapped in blankets on the couch, we took turns telling local ghost stories and spooky tales our elders used to share with us when we were younger. The mood in the room was pleasantly eerie.
Right in the middle of a chilling story about a haunted house on the edge of town, the power suddenly went out. Everything plunged into pitch darkness. For a few lingering seconds, nobody said a word. The heavy silence was broken only by our breathing and the gentle flickering of the candle inside our pumpkin.
Then, we heard a faint, distinct scratching sound coming from the back door near the kitchen.
My stomach instantly tied itself in knots. We all sat frozen in place, eyes wide, staring at each other in the soft candlelight. The scratching continued, followed by a loud, sudden clatter—like a piece of metal slamming against the tiled kitchen floor. My friend grabbed my jacket, whispering frantically, asking what we should do.
Trying to keep my cool, I grabbed my phone to use as a flashlight, while my friend picked up our glowing pumpkin to carry like a lantern. We crept slowly down the hallway toward the kitchen, stepping with extreme care. Every minor creak of the wooden floor felt amplified in the quiet dark.
When we finally rounded the doorway and aimed the flashlight at the back door, we couldn't contain our laughter. Standing next to an overturned metal trash bin was a tiny, scruffy stray cat looking up at us with wide, startled eyes. It had snuck inside through a small tear in the back door screen to escape the chilly autumn wind outside.
All the built-up tension evaporated into relief and shared laughter. We cleaned up the trash bin, gave the unexpected little guest a bowl of warm milk and some food, and spent the rest of the night laughing about how scared we had been over a tiny cat.
Looking back at last year’s Halloween, that simple yet memorable night remains one of my absolute favorites. It reminded me that the best part of Halloween isn't just the jump scares, but the genuine laughter and unforgettable moments we share with friends. Combining our love for crypto with our holiday tradition gave us a story we still talk about today.

Chaque année, les initiatives mondiales en faveur de l’environnement nous rappellent l’urgence de protéger notre planète, mais le vrai changement commence toujours tout près de nous, dans nos quartiers locaux. Participer à la Journée mondiale du nettoyage, c’est bien plus que simplement ramasser les déchets physiques : c’est l’expression d’un engagement profond et conscient en faveur d’un environnement plus sain, plus sûr et plus durable pour nous-mêmes et pour les générations futures. Aujourd’hui, aux côtés de la passionnée communauté Binance, je partage mes moments personnels, mes actions actives de nettoyage et mes réflexions sur pourquoi préserver un environnement propre et florissant est essentiel pour l’humanité.
