Apple is facing a lawsuit over claims it left a fake $BTC wallet app on the App Store even after an $875,000 theft had already been reported.
According to the lawsuit, three users lost a combined $1.84M after entering their seed phrases into the fraudulent app, including one victim who reportedly lost around $840,000.
Apple told MacRumors it has since removed the fake apps impersonating Sparrow Wallet and terminated the developer accounts responsible.
⚠️ This is one of the costliest mistakes in Bitcoin history
In 2013, James Howells lost a hard drive containing 8,000 $BTC after it was mistakenly thrown away and ended up in a landfill in Newport.
He later offered to fully fund the excavation and even share the recovered Bitcoin with the local council, but the proposal was rejected. The council argued that once the drive entered the landfill, it legally became council property.
Today, those 8,000 $BTC are worth roughly $512M. At Bitcoin’s all-time high, they were valued at more than $1Billion.
Donald Trump Jr. responds to questions about the President’s reported crypto earnings.
Connell: “Your father’s financial disclosure shows he made $57 million from your crypto company, $WLFI (World Liberty Financial). He does benefit financially.”
Donald Trump Jr.: “He has the ownership, but he’s not involved in any of that. It’s walled off.”
$TRX saw a strong jump in network activity yesterday.
A total of 230,862 new accounts were created, representing a 42.87% increase from the previous day and the highest daily account growth recorded over the past month.
> Stablecoin supply was largely unchanged, rising by just $113.2M over the week.
> DEX activity slowed, with spot trading volume down 6.65% and perpetual futures volume falling 14.9% week over week.

$BTC one-year realized volatility ended Q2 around 42%, sitting near multi-year lows despite the recent price decline.
This suggests the sell-off has been relatively controlled, with no signs of widespread panic or forced selling.
However, low volatility can also mean the market is becoming too comfortable. When volatility stays compressed for too long, the next major move can often come suddenly once a catalyst arrives.
The current setup points to a market in balance, not heavy fear, but also not without risk of a sharp expansion in volatility.
$VRSC
AFX Trade has reportedly suffered a $24M exploit on @Arbitrum with the attack targeting one of its bridge contracts.
Bridge security remains one of the biggest challenges in DeFi.
The investigation is still ongoing, with several blockchain security firms now involved.
According to SlowMist, the stolen funds remain in the attacker’s wallet, which has been flagged with the Crypto Defense Alliance (CDA), a network of exchanges and ecosystem partners actively monitoring suspicious addresses.
Zellic, the firm that audited the bridge, has also joined the investigation to help determine what happened.
The team says it will continue sharing updates as more verified information becomes available. $ARB
🚨 Allbridge Core has been exploited, with losses exceeding $1.1M.
The attacker used a flash loan from Kamino to manipulate swaps across Allbridge’s liquidity pools.
In one of the transactions alone, 3,987.46 $USDT was exchanged for 948,927.52 $USDC highlighting the scale of the exploit.
A portion of the stolen funds has already been moved through a privacy protocol, while the total number of attacker-controlled wallets and the final loss amount are still under investigation.
MetaMask’s parent company, Consensys, unknowingly gave a DPRK-linked contractor access to parts of its codebase for about a month.
The GitHub handle (imyugioh) was reportedly already listed in SEAL’s public DPRK IT worker database before the contractor joined.
Consensys says it caught the issue before any malicious code or user losses occurred.
If one of the largest crypto companies can be infiltrated through a contractor using a false identity, it’s fair to ask how many smaller protocols with far fewer security resources might be exposed to similar hiring risks.
Damn! Would have been a clean wipe of $ETH / ERC20/BEP20 and other related Assets.
