Bitcoin mining firm Marathon Digital reported a 21% decrease in total mined Bitcoin in June compared to May, citing weather conditions in Texas and falling transaction fees as reasons for the decline. The company produced 979 Bitcoin in June as Texas weather impacted operations. Marathon also experienced a drop in transaction fees to 5.1% of total Bitcoin earned, from 11.8% in May. This is not the first time Texas weather has affected the crypto mining industry, with Riot Platforms' 17,040 rigs going offline in February due to severe winter storms.
