For years, the idea of trading traditional stocks on blockchain sounded futuristic.

Now, the numbers are starting to look very real.

Tokenized stocks crossed US$3 billion in market capitalization in the fourth week of September 2026, making them the fastest-growing RWA category this year. The sector has grown more than 4× from around US$0.7B at the start of January.

But the more interesting shift isn't just the value of the assets.

It's what people are doing with them on-chain.

From holding to using

According to Binance Research, on-chain transfers of tokenized stocks, including trading volume, exceeded US$100 billion in Q3, compared with just US$6 billion in Q1.

That's more than a 16× increase in three quarters.

And this is where tokenization becomes more than simply putting a stock price on a blockchain. Once an asset exists on-chain, it can interact with the broader on-chain financial ecosystem, from trading and liquidity to lending and other DeFi applications.

The infrastructure originally built for crypto-native assets is increasingly carrying real-world financial assets too.

And BNB Chain is right in the middle of this shift

BNB Chain currently holds around US$1 billion in tokenized stocks, representing roughly 34% of the market.

It also has around 1.8 million tokenized-stock holders, approximately 45% of the total.

A major part of this growth has come from bStocks.

Launched in June, bStocks has become the fastest-growing tokenized-stock product of 2026, reaching around US$0.8B in under four months. Binance Research also identifies it as the most transferred tokenized-stock product on-chain.

That combination is important:

Real-world assets + blockchain rails + active on-chain usage.

The result is an ecosystem where crypto assets and traditional financial assets can increasingly exist on the same always-on infrastructure.

Maybe the most interesting part of tokenization isn't that stocks are coming onto the blockchain.

It's that blockchain infrastructure is becoming part of how financial markets themselves can operate.

The “cyberpunk” version of on-chain finance is becoming something much more practical:

a global financial network where traditional and digital assets can interact on shared rails.
