MultiversX halted after VM exploit on Sep 19 — attacker hit an atomicity bug in edge cases, caused invalid state changes. Network paused immediately to protect users.
Current status:
• Root cause identified same day, fix deployed
• Attacker wallets frozen across major CEXs, law enforcement looped in
• Recovery = coordinated hard fork from clean checkpoint
• Code is public, testing live on Testnet/Devnet with validators
Until mainnet restart:
• DO NOT submit/rebroadcast txs
• DO NOT deposit/withdraw $EGLD or ESDT on CEXs or bridges
• Exchanges/bridges reopen in stages post-restart
