On X, someone said that ETH/BTC “explosive breakout” is coming. Is that claim valid now?

I directly checked Coinbase’s ETH-BTC spot data, and found that the answer changes completely depending on the time window:

• Current ratio: 1 ETH = 0.031097 BTC
• vs. 24-hour open: +0.96%
• Last 7 daily candles: -1.00%

Conclusion: ETH is indeed strengthening against BTC in the short term, but over a one-week horizon, it still has not recovered its earlier relative losses. Calling it a rebound is more accurate; calling it a trend breakout still lacks evidence.

Why is ETH/BTC more important than looking only at ETH’s USD price?

Because ETH rising in USD may just mean BTC is lifting the whole market; only if ETH/BTC keeps moving higher does it show that capital is truly willing to take on more Ethereum risk.

Next, I will watch three things:

1️⃣ Whether ETH/BTC can hold above 0.031 for several consecutive days
2️⃣ Whether it holds up on pullbacks instead of spiking and then falling back within a day
3️⃣ Whether ETH spot trading volume and ETF inflows improve in sync

If the ratio keeps rising, the credibility of altcoin rotation increases; if it falls back near the weekly low again, this round of “explosion” may still just be a short-term rebound in thin weekend liquidity.
