Bitcoin enters the new KST day consolidating near the $80,000 area after a sharp late-August rebound. The market is balancing two opposing forces: renewed institutional demand through spot ETFs and a less friendly macro backdrop after hawkish Jackson Hole commentary lifted Treasury yields and weighed on bitcoin-linked risk assets.

ETF flows remain the strongest constructive signal. Recent market data showed U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs extending an eight-session buying streak, with roughly $2.8 billion added during the run. Ether ETFs followed the same direction, adding more than $1 billion over their own streak. That combination matters because simultaneous BTC and ETH inflows usually support broader liquidity, first into large-cap altcoins and then into higher-beta narratives.

Regulation is also keeping sentiment supported. The SEC's August crypto-asset proposal and related statements point toward a more defined U.S. framework, while the CLARITY Act debate remains a key autumn market-structure event. Stablecoins continue to attract policy attention as governments and payment firms link tokenized dollars with settlement, Treasury-bill demand and global payment rails.

Still, the rally is not free of risk. A higher-rate message from the Fed can cool risk appetite quickly, especially after a fast move and heavy liquidations. Traders should watch whether BTC can hold the $80,000 zone, whether ETH keeps relative strength, whether ETF inflows persist into month-end, and whether funding rates stay orderly.

The market backdrop is constructive but tactical: liquidity has improved, policy visibility is better, and institutional demand is active, yet macro rates remain the pressure point that can decide whether the breakout extends or pauses.
