🚨 UPDATE: Ripple is proposing that the $XRP Ledger community retire the long-running XChainBridge, also known as the XLS-38 amendment. XLS-38 was originally created to enable native cross-chain bridging between XRPL networks. However, Ripple believes that use case is now better handled by Axelar, which already connects with 50+ blockchains and is supported by more than 75 validators. Ripple also noted that developer demand for XLS-38 has remained limited, and removing it could eliminate over 10,000 lines of code. The proposal is not final, though.
