I was thinking about something simple while looking at TermMax — would you rather know your rate from the beginning, or keep the freedom to change your position later?
For me, fixed rate is more about peace of mind. You know the rate and the term, so it becomes easier to plan.
Floating rate is different. You get more flexibility, but you also have to accept that the rate can move.
If I had $3,000 for 6 months, honestly I wouldn’t choose one blindly. I’d compare both and maybe split the capital depending on the market.
Fixed = confidence.
Floating = flexibility.
