$SHELL | What RSI Actually Measures
RSI, or Relative Strength Index, measures the speed and size of recent price changes on a scale of 0 to 100. Loosely speaking, it's comparing how much price has gone up versus how much it's gone down over a set number of recent candles, here calculated over 6 periods.
On the 1-hour chart, SHELL's RSI(6) currently reads 36.58, a relatively low reading on that 0-100 scale. On the 4-hour chart, it's a bit higher at 41.94.
Neither number by itself says what happens next, it's simply a read on how sharp recent price movement has been over that specific timeframe's last 6 candles.
