Something broke this week, and almost nobody connected it.

None of this is isolated. It's one feedback loop, and it's accelerating.
When the two largest foreign holders of U.S. debt step back at the same time, someone else has to absorb that supply. And they'll only do it at higher yields.
That's exactly what's happening.
Here's the loop:
Japan and China cut Treasuries → supply gets harder to absorb → yields rise to pull in buyers → financing costs explode → every asset priced against yields reprices lower
Now stack the energy shock on top. Hormuz is the most critical chokepoint on the planet. Disruption there means higher oil, which means higher inflation, which pushes yields even higher.
