Tether has stepped in to freeze nearly $90 million in stolen USDT stablecoin linked to a massive security scare involving compromised Ledger hardware wallets sold by the Southeast Asian reseller CryptoBilis. $BTC $MAGIC $KAIA

⚡ Tether already blacklisted and froze specific addresses holding stolen USDT (including a confirmed action on a Tron address holding 500,000 USDT).

But the victims have NOT automatically recovered their money, and investigators have not confirmed exactly how the wallets were compromised.

⚠️ Ledger has advised customers not to begin setup right now, and if they have already set up, urged to immediately transfer their remaining assets to a new, verified hardware wallet using a fresh recovery phrase.

But, the case is raising serious questions about crypto security, supply-chain risks and how quickly stolen funds can be traced across blockchains.

Even a hardware wallet cannot protect users if their recovery credentials or signing process are compromised ⚠️
