GRVT doesn't do that. The unified balance sits underneath both functions simultaneously. Same capital counts toward open positions and earns in the background. No internal transfer, no split decision. I checked this against their on-chain activity around the July 10 token registration window — the wallet interaction pattern shows single-account state updates handling both collateral accounting and yield accrual in the same settlement layer. No bridging step between the two.
Small thing, maybe. But in practice it changes the mental load. Traders who've used CEXs with separate funding and trading accounts know the friction. You miscalculate, your position gets thin, you scramble to move funds during a volatile window. That delay has cost people.
What I'm still not sure about — how this holds when volatility is extreme and settlement demand spikes. Unified balance is elegant on paper.
