Ancient Bitcoin Whale Transfers 4,582 BTC After Years of Dormancy
A long-dormant ancient Bitcoin whale has moved its entire holdings of 4,582 BTC after years of inactivity. According to BlockBeats On-chain Detection, the transfer was tracked on October 13, and the whale reportedly woke up before sending out all of its Bitcoin.
France's €100,000 Crypto Reporting Proposal Draws Security Backlash
French lawmakers advanced a proposal that would require holders to declare self-custody crypto assets worth at least €100,000, prompting criticism over personal security concerns. According to NS3.AI, the measure would also impose fines of up to €10,000 for noncompliance. The proposal is not law and remains subject to change. The Finance Committee later rejected the budget's entire revenue section by 31 votes to 3, and the full National Assembly will resume debate on Monday using the government's original text, which excludes the crypto amendments. Lawmakers would need to table the amendments again to restore them.
More Republicans Oppose Trump’s Diesel Deal With Putin
According to CNBC, six Republican senators joined six Democrats in a Tuesday letter urging President Donald Trump to cancel an arrangement that would allow Russia to export 4.8 million metric tons, or nearly 36 million barrels, of diesel through mid-April. The lawmakers said the deal would not help Americans, would have little effect on fuel prices, and would provide revenues to the Kremlin that could support its war effort and deepen cooperation with China, Iran and North Korea. Republican Sens. Thom Tillis, Susan Collins, Alan Armstrong, Lisa Murkowski, Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn signed the letter, adding to earlier criticism from Collins, Murkowski, Tillis and Sen. John Curtis. Trump announced the deal after a call with Russian President Vladimir Putin and said it would quickly bring record-high diesel prices down, while oil analysts said the supply would not be enough to materially affect prices.
Avalanche Says South Korea's KSD Platform Will Support Its Ledger, Samsung SDS Targets February 2027 Completion
Avalanche said on October 13 that South Korea's Korea Securities Depository is building infrastructure connectivity based on Avalanche for the country's tokenized securities market. According to ChainCatcher, KSD's technical guidance confirms Avalanche is one of several ledger technologies its platform plans to support, alongside Hyperledger Besu and Hyperledger Fabric. The project has moved from a testbed to production platform development, with Samsung SDS winning the contract to build a system that can support live trading and stable operations. The target completion date is February 2027. South Korea's Financial Services Commission said in a roadmap released in September that revised provisions recognizing tokenized securities will take effect on February 4, 2027, with the first phase starting in the same month. The initial scope covers private money market funds and bonds for institutional investors, unlisted shares held through trust structures, and publicly offered fractional investment securities, while the second phase will expand to all publicly offered securities. On-chain payments tied to stablecoins are reserved for the final stage, and the commission said the timing for the second and third phases remains flexible. The deadline for comments on the implementing rules is November 11.
Ki Young Ju on Blockchain 100: The Bull Market Started and Most People Have Not Noticed
CryptoQuant founder Ki Young Ju joined Binance Square’s Blockchain 100 to argue that a new bull cycle is already running, that Bitcoin whales are accumulating rather than distributing, and that the market has not fully priced it in. He also explained the mechanic behind one of the most common complaints in crypto — billions flowing in while the chart sits still — and set out the test he applies to other analysts, including the one he failed himself last year.Nothing below is investment advice, a point he returned to several times unprompted. The Call: Bear Cycle Over, Early in the BullJu said he has already made the public call. “I recently said that I believe the bear cycle is over and new bull cycle has been started,” he told host Jenny, adding that “it is bull right now” while acknowledging the market is working through a correction.Asked directly whether whales are accumulating or distributing, he chose accumulation without hedging: “I think we’re early in bull market and I’m buying with the intention of holding for at least a year.”His own positioning is spot rather than leveraged. He said he traded futures heavily when he was younger, sometimes putting everything into margin, and has since narrowed to accumulating spot Bitcoin and selling near cycle highs. “Trading is a game of probabilities. The more I think about the odds, the more I come back to a simple approach.”Supply Met Demand, So the Price StalledThe clearest market-mechanics section came from a deliberately simple question: how can billions enter Bitcoin without the price moving?“Because there’s just as much selling on the other side,” Ju said. “Ultimately, it comes down to supply and demand.”He described the period when Bitcoin traded in the low $100,000s as one of enormous demand that was fully absorbed. Long-term holders — what he called OG whales — were selling large volumes into it, which is why record trading volume coincided with a price that would not keep rising. He named the same dynamic as the reason sustained corporate accumulation did not translate into higher prices, and added that hedging by institutional trading desks played a key role. The takeaway is that inflow headlines describe one side of a transaction. Without the matching sell-side figure they say little about direction.Bitcoin and Altcoin Transfers Carry Different MeaningsJu was direct that the frameworks he is known for do not transfer cleanly between assets, and that he now reads them “completely differently.”Bitcoin has no significant DeFi ecosystem, so moving Bitcoin is most likely a trading action. Exceptions exist, such as depositing to an exchange to post collateral for a leveraged position, but he described those as a smaller share than on other chains.Ethereum and altcoins are the opposite case. A transfer there might be staking, posting collateral, or entering a DeFi position, none of which signal an intent to sell. Interpretation has to establish purpose before it can establish anything about supply. He extended the point to tokenized equities, saying BNB Chain has been effective at adopting real-world assets. Because trading tokenized stocks on a decentralized exchange is simply buying and selling, he said the Bitcoin methodology does apply — he has calculated a realized price, the aggregate cost basis of all holders, for tokenized Tesla shares, which gives a read on how much capital has entered through onchain channels. The Manipulation Pattern He Watches ForAsked what onchain data reveals that looks wrong, Ju declined to name any token and described the shape instead. The sequence he flagged begins with an unusually large exchange deposit from a founder, foundation or market maker. Price rises sharply shortly after, daily trading volume reaches hundreds of millions or billions, the entity sells gradually into that strength, and then price stops moving and stays capped. He said the pattern is straightforward to spot once the abnormal deposit is identified, and that he uses AI tools against CryptoQuant’s own metrics to surface the activity. His Three Tests for an Analyst, and the Call He Got WrongJu said the single most important quality in an analyst is the willingness to be wrong in public. He called the end of the bull cycle in 2025, Bitcoin went on to make new highs, and he posted the correction himself.“You can be brilliant at analysis, but if your ego stops you from acknowledging mistakes, you won’t get better,” he said, drawing a line between a wrong interpretation and bad data. “A wrong call doesn’t mean that data is wrong or the data has no value.” He described the episode as gaining views at the expense of reputation, and said he would make another public call regardless. His other two criteria: the ratio of evidence to argument, since a claim without data is “not even prediction, it’s just gambling”; and what he calls a clown score, the balance between posts written for attention and posts that inform. He allowed that influence requires some of both.He was candid about the cost of an audience of roughly half a million. Some followers trade on his posts despite the disclaimers, and he described receiving messages from people who said they had put everything in because they believed him. “That’s where the ethical dilemma comes in.”The Analyst Consensus IndexJu’s current project reads sentiment rather than chains. It aggregates posts from X and Stocktwits, uses a language model to classify each as bullish or bearish, and scores each analyst’s current stance into a single index. He said he is considering adding Binance Square as a source. The filter is the design choice. The index covers only analysts he grades A-tier and S-tier, with the seed list assembled from his own judgment while he works on an algorithm to replace it. He said shifts in that aggregated sentiment have tended to precede price declines.Principles Over PredictionsAsked what he would tell someone who wants to be right more than popular, Ju gave an answer about discipline rather than analysis: decide your principles, then live by them. He said generating principles is easy for anyone intelligent, and that almost nobody follows them consistently. His own method is writing them down, sharing them publicly, and being held to what he said.He cited CZ as his model on this point and recommended the Binance founder’s blog post on principles, pointing to his decision to stop playing poker and to avoid trading while running an exchange as examples of a rule kept rather than stated. His closing question for the Binance Square community went to traders directly: do you calculate the odds of making money before you open a position? “If you don’t, I would suggest stepping back from trading and dollar-cost averaging instead.”
Bitcoin News | Bitcoin Support at $81,000 and Resistance at $84,000, Analyst Says
Liquid Capital founder Yi Lihua places Bitcoin’s support at the 400-day moving average around $81,000 and resistance at the 20-day moving average around $84,000.Above that, he identifies $86,500 as strong resistance — the level he describes as the $86,000 pullback point he has watched repeatedly.Bitcoin dipped below $81,000 at 00:50 UTC on Tuesday before recovering above $83,000, placing it between his two levels and closer to resistance. The Support Level Was Tested Hours Before the CallYi says Bitcoin has rebounded quickly every time it has pulled back to the 400-day moving average.Tuesday’s session offers one data point consistent with that. Bitcoin fell to just under $81,000 in early trading, then recovered more than $2,000 within hours, decoupling from a 6% fall in South Korea’s Kospi and weakness in Nasdaq futures. The broader claim is harder to assess. Yi does not state how many times the level has been touched or over what period, and the 400-day moving average is an unusual reference — most technical analysts work from the 200-day, which means his track record cannot be compared against a familiar benchmark. Two Timeframes Doing Different JobsThe two moving averages Yi cites measure different things, which is why they sit $3,000 apart. The 400-day average smooths more than a year of price action and moves slowly. It describes where the long-term trend sits, which is why he treats it as structural support. The 20-day average tracks the past month and moves quickly. It describes recent momentum, which is why a break above it would signal a shift in the near term rather than in the trend.A price between the two is a price inside a correction rather than a reversal — which is how Yi reads the current setup. His $86,500 Level Overlaps With Onchain DataYi’s upper resistance sits inside a zone other methods have flagged independently.Glassnode identified a dense concentration of long-term holder supply between $83,000 and $86,000 — coins bought in that range whose holders can exit at breakeven. Bitcoin was rejected at that zone twice during 2026, and its September 21 breakout attempt failed at $87,300.Two different approaches pointing at the same area is more informative than either alone. Yi’s levels come from price history; Glassnode’s come from the cost basis of coins that have not moved in more than 155 days.Bearish in Outlook, Not ShortYi describes his position as bearish but not shorting, which is worth unpacking because the phrasing sounds contradictory. He expects the current phase to be a pullback — a period of weakness — while maintaining that the longer trend is upward. He says Bitcoin is in a bull market uptrend and is optimistic about what he calls a super bull market next year. The practical consequence is that he will not bet against the price. Shorting a correction within an uptrend means being positioned against the dominant trend, and a sharp rebound from support is exactly the move that damages a short position.“An upward trend is not a straight line, nor is a downward trend,” he said. These are Yi’s own views, not confirmed outcomes, and he provides no timeframe for the super bull market call.Where the Levels Sit Against Recent Price ActionBitcoin closed the third quarter 42.7% higher, its best since the first quarter of 2024, before pulling back through October.LevelYi’s readingRecent relevance$86,500Strong resistanceBelow the $87,300 September 21 high$84,00020-day MA resistanceInside Glassnode’s LTH supply zone$81,000400-day MA supportTested and held TuesdayThe macro backdrop has been working against the upside. Binance Futures Will Update Margin Tiers for 11 USDⓈ-M Perpetual Contracts
According to the announcement from Binance, Binance Futures will update the leverage and margin tiers of several USDⓈ-M Perpetual Contracts on 2026-10-16 06:30 (UTC), with the change expected to be completed within approximately one hour. The update will affect existing positions opened before the adjustment, and users with Futures running grid strategies may see those positions expire because of the revised leverage and margin tiers. The contracts covered by the change include BLURUSDT, VELODROMEUSDT, MOVRUSDT, COOKIEUSDT, CVCUSDT, BICOUSDT, ARKUSDT, RAREUSDT, STXUSDT, JASMYUSDT, WIFUSDT, LSKUSDT, PTBUSDT, and LYNUSDT. The announcement states that the leverage limits and maintenance margin rates will be adjusted across multiple position ranges for each contract, with some pairs seeing lower maximum leverage and revised notional value brackets. For example, BLURUSDT, VELODROMEUSDT, MOVRUSDT, COOKIEUSDT, BICOUSDT, ARKUSDT, RAREUSDT, LSKUSDT, and PTBUSDT will move to new tier structures, while STXUSDT and JASMYUSDT will also shift to updated leverage bands. WIFUSDT and LYNUSDT will likewise receive revised tiers, including changes to the lower-position leverage ranges and maintenance margin requirements. The announcement also notes that collateral ratio changes will affect the Unified Maintenance Margin Ratio, or uniMMR, and users are advised to monitor uniMMR closely to reduce the risk of liquidation or losses linked to the collateral ratio adjustment. Binance did not provide additional operational details beyond the tier updates and the affected contracts. The notice is presented as a general announcement and states that the products and services mentioned may not be available in every region. The update applies only to the listed USDⓈ-M Perpetual Contracts and is scheduled to take effect at the stated UTC time.
Mysten Reports Sui's First Native Quantum-Resistant Devnet Transaction, Mainnet Target Set for Q1 2027
Mysten Labs said Sui has completed its first native quantum-resistant Devnet transaction. According to ChainCatcher, the Devnet update added ML-DSA-65 account signatures, allowing accounts to authorize transactions directly with the post-quantum scheme. Sui also plans to introduce hash-based SLH-DSA-SHA2-128s for high-value vaults in Move smart contracts. The two schemes are based on lattice and hash mathematical problems, and a weakness in one would not affect the other. Because Sui keys are deterministically derived from a seed, users can migrate to quantum-resistant keys with existing seed phrases. Address aliases already live on the network also allow accounts to update authorization keys without moving assets. The quantum-resistant account rollout will be optional and incremental, following the launch path used for zkLogin and passkeys. Sui said quantum-resistant vaults are targeted to go live on mainnet this year, native ML-DSA-65 accounts are targeted for testnet by year-end, and native account authentication on mainnet is targeted for Q1 2027, subject to independent audits and testnet feedback.

STOCKS | Korean Chip Shares Fall on Chinese Rival Concerns, Broadcom Remarks
Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix shares extended their recent selloff Tuesday, with SK Hynix dropping 7.1% and Samsung 5.99% as concerns about Chinese rivals and the stretched AI stock rally intensified, according to Bloomberg. Both stocks are headed for a fifth straight session of losses, dragging Korea's Kospi down as much as 4.8%, while US chipmakers slumped overnight, with fellow memory firm Micron Technology retreating 3.9%. Investors reacted to a report that China's CXMT Corp. has made progress on a new memory architecture that Samsung and SK Hynix are also working on; meanwhile, comments from Broadcom's chief executive about the gambling-like qualities of AI stock investment fueled further worry. "Uncertainty over whether the upcycle can last into 2028 and beyond appears to be weighing on valuations and share prices" of Korean chipmakers, said Ha SeokKeun, chief investment officer at Eugene Asset Management. This year's big Korean stock rally has sharply pared as its reliance on the two chip giants has come back to bite: record earnings from Samsung last week failed to give the stock a boost as investors worry that growth will slow. The Kospi is now down a third from the record high it reached in June and has fallen below its 200-day moving average, and foreigners have accelerated their exit, selling more than $6 billion worth of Kospi shares on a net basis in October. "Samsung's strong earnings have been overshadowed by concerns about future competition from CXMT and the sustainability of AI spending," said Jung In Yun, chief executive officer at Fibonacci Asset Management Global. "These concerns may weigh on sentiment, but CXMT still needs to translate technological progress into commercially competitive production at scale."

XRPN Shareholders Vote on Evernorth Public Listing Without Knowing About XRP Inflation Bug
XRPN shareholders voted on September 30 to take Evernorth Holdings public without knowing about an XRP Ledger bug that could have created trillions of XRP. According to NS3.AI, shareholders faced a September 28 deadline to redeem shares for cash or withdraw from the merger plan. Ripple shipped an emergency fix on September 25, but an official report disclosed the inflation vulnerability only on October 9, when the merger closed. No one exploited the vulnerability while it was active, and Evernorth CEO Asheesh Birla had promoted XRP's 100 billion-token supply as a ceiling that would never change.

Solana's Alpenglow Consensus Upgrade to Launch on Mainnet on October 21, Finality Cut to About 150 Milliseconds
Solana core developer Anza said the network's new consensus protocol, Alpenglow, is scheduled to go live on Mainnet-beta at around 10:50 PM on October 21. According to Foresight News, the upgrade was developed by Anza over 18 months and will replace TowerBFT, the consensus protocol Solana has used since genesis. Alpenglow will remove the Proof of History mechanism, reduce transaction finality from several seconds to about 150 milliseconds, and move voting off-chain to free up block space for user transactions. The migration is expected to be completed within one slot. Anza said Alpenglow has already completed migrations on testnet and devnet, and the protocol was tested in simulations involving 1,500 nodes. The bug bounty for the upgrade has exceeded 25,000 SOL.

Crypto News | Bitcoin Reclaims $83K While KOSPI Crashes 6% and Altcoins Lag — CPI Wednesday Is the Decoupling’s First Real Test
Bitcoin bounced from $81,000 to above $83,000 Tuesday while South Korea’s KOSPI plunged 6% below 6,000 and Nasdaq futures fell 0.6% — the clearest decoupling from AI chip stocks since the rally began. 90% of altcoins failed to recover their overnight drop while Bitcoin clawed back the full decline; BTC dominance rebounded to 60.28%. Long-term holders sit 72% above their $48,600 average cost basis with Bitcoin needing to fall 42% before that cohort faces average losses. Tesla’s 8,430 BTC has been untouched since 2022. Wednesday’s CPI (consensus: headline +0.5% MoM, 3.6% YoY; core +0.2% MoM, 2.4% YoY) is the immediate test — hot headline driven by energy, potentially soft core, a split that has defined every inflation read since summer.Bitcoin Reclaims $83,000 as Kospi Crashes 6% and Chip Stocks Fall 8%Bitcoin fell below $81,000 at 00:50 UTC Tuesday before recovering above $83,000, decoupling from Samsung and SK Hynix each falling ~8% (extending a five-session losing streak), KOSPI below 6,000 for the first time since late July, and Nasdaq futures down 0.6%. Investors cited AI valuation concerns and Chinese memory competition — a valuation concern compresses when multiples adjust; a competition concern requires defending market share. Alibaba unveiled China’s “most powerful AI chip” September 22; Micron’s Q1 guidance of $60-63B was delivered October 1 and the stock has fallen through it for two weeks. Bitcoin’s recovery against that backdrop is the second decoupling in two weeks: it gained 1% while semiconductors fell 5.9% on October 6, and now recovers $2,000+ while KOSPI loses 6%. Oil held gains: WTI near $92.67, Brent near $106, the $13+ spread between them far above the normal $2-4 range — consistent with a seaborne export constraint. DXY at 102.50, an 18-month high. CPI Thursday (Wednesday UTC) is the next test.US Inflation Report Arrives Wednesday. Here Is What Economists ExpectSeptember CPI publishes Wednesday October 14 at 8:30am EDT. Consensus: headline +0.5% MoM (vs +0.4% August) and 3.6% YoY (vs 3.4%); core +0.2% MoM (vs +0.3% August) and 2.4% YoY (unchanged). The two numbers are moving in opposite directions: energy (Brent ~$106, Saudi East-West pipeline still shut, Hormuz constrained) drives headline higher while underlying price pressure cools. The 1.2 percentage point expected gap between them is entirely energy. The important context: CPI is not the Fed’s preferred measure. Warsh built his Jackson Hole case on PCE — August core PCE came in at 3% against 3.3% expected. Core CPI at 2.4% sitting below core PCE at 3% would invert their usual relationship (CPI normally runs above PCE on housing weights) — either the forecast is off or the two indices have genuinely diverged. The Fed-market split remains wide: 16 of 18 officials projected at least one more 2026 hike; markets price October at 19%. A core read at or below 2.4% widens that gap; a surprise above it narrows it. Wincent’s Paul Howard expects institutional investors to hedge with derivatives rather than reduce exposure into the print.Tesla Still Holds 8,430 Bitcoin and Has Not Sold Since 2022Tesla’s 8,430 BTC position — worth ~$700M at current prices — has been unchanged for more than four years. The company bought $1.5B in February 2021 (~43,200 BTC at ~$34,700 average), sold roughly three-quarters across two reductions in 2021-2022, and has been inactive since. A circulating $960M valuation implies ~$113,900/BTC — a stale figure from when Bitcoin was near its $126,080 record; the actual current value is ~$700M. Tesla’s remaining position is up ~139% from its cost basis of ~$293M. Critically, Tesla held through the FTX collapse — one of the worst liquidity events in crypto history — without reducing. That makes it a different kind of corporate holder from Strategy (845,050 BTC with a capital structure built around accumulation) or Bitmine (5.93M ETH representing ~4.9% of supply). Tesla bought once, trimmed in the first 15 months, and has sat still — placing it squarely in the long-term holder cohort that now controls 80% of supply.Bitcoin Long-Term Holders Hold a 72% Cushion Above $48,600LTH average cost basis: $48,600 vs Bitcoin’s $83,600 — a 72% cushion, down from 76% a week ago as Bitcoin fell from $85,800 while holders held still. Bitcoin would need to fall 42% from current levels before the average LTH moves into loss territory. The cost basis has been declining since August 1 (negative 60 of 74 days, ~81% of the period) despite the long-term holder cohort growing to an all-time 80% of supply — the two readings fit together: old cheap coins stay put while newer expensive ones are distributed, expanding the cohort in size while pulling its average cost lower. Last week’s selling (47,800 BTC, most at a loss per LTH SOPR) is gradual distribution rather than a rush for the exit — the largest weekly cost basis decline was 0.34% on August 25; current reading is -0.06%, near flat. More negative readings signal acceleration; a return above zero signals accumulation resuming.BTC Dominance Back at 60% as 90% of Altcoins Fail to RecoverBitcoin dominance rebounded to 60.28% — above the 59.2% it started September’s altcoin rotation at and well above the ~57% it reached on September 22 when the altcoin season index held above 60 for five consecutive days. During Tuesday’s overnight drop and recovery: Bitcoin fell 2.71% then rebounded 2.84% (recovering the full decline); the median altcoin recovered only 54% of its drop; 153 of 169 tracked assets (90.5%) remained below pre-drop prices after Bitcoin’s bounce. The math: a 2.84% rebound from a lower base returns Bitcoin to its starting point — altcoins recovering 54% of a steeper decline remain considerably further behind than the number suggests. Dominance shifts because capital rotates or because assets move at different speeds — Tuesday was the second kind. Altcoins carrying higher downside beta (falling further, recovering less) is characteristic of both the later speculative phase of a rotation and any risk-off session — one session doesn’t distinguish between them. The relevant test is cumulative altcoin performance since August’s rotation started versus the last two weeks’ momentum.

Bitcoin News | Bitcoin Long-Term Holders Hold a 72% Cushion Above $48,600
Bitcoin trades at $83.6K against an average long-term holder cost basis of $48.6K, leaving that cohort roughly 72% in profit. The last time price traded below that level was January 13, 2023. Its closest approach since came in March 2023.The cost basis peaked at $49.5K on July 30 and has declined 1.7% since. The Cushion Narrowed on Price AloneBetween October 6 and October 13, Bitcoin fell from $85.8K to $83.6K while the cost basis held essentially unchanged at $48.6K.That moved the cushion from roughly 76% to 72% — a narrowing of about four percentage points in a week, caused entirely by price. The distinction matters. A cushion that shrinks because holders are selling at lower prices signals distribution. A cushion that shrinks because the market fell while holders did nothing signals only that the market fell.Last week was the second kind.A 42% Drop Would Reach the Cost LineBitcoin would need to fall from $83.6K to $48.6K before the average long-term holder moved into loss — a decline of roughly 42%.That is what the cushion measures. It does not forecast price; it indicates how far the market could fall before the cohort that historically holds through volatility starts facing average losses.Nearly four years have passed since that last happened. Why a Falling Cost Basis Means Expensive Coins Are LeavingThe gradual decline since early August runs against what should happen mechanically.Long-term holder status is earned when coins sit unmoved for more than 155 days. Coins crossing that line now were bought around mid-May, when Bitcoin traded in the high $70,000s.Adding coins with a cost near $79K to a pool averaging $48.6K should pull the average up.It is falling instead, which means higher-cost coins are leaving the cohort faster than they join — long-term holders who bought at elevated prices are selling. That matches what Adler reported in September, when long-term holdings declined for five consecutive weeks and LTH SOPR showed most of the prior week’s 47,800 BTC was sold at a loss. The Cohort Is Growing While Its Average Cost FallsTwo readings from different sources fit together.Glassnode put long-term holders at 80% of total supply at the start of October, an all-time high, up from 65% a year earlier. The average cost basis has fallen over the same period.Together those describe old, cheap coins staying put while newer, more expensive ones are distributed — a cohort expanding in size while getting cheaper in average cost. The Decline Is Steady but ShallowSince August 1, the weekly change has been negative on 60 of 74 days, or about 81% of the period. The largest weekly decline was 0.34% on August 25. The current reading is −0.06%, near flat.Weekly changes have not fallen below −0.34% since August. That describes gradual distribution rather than a rush for the exit.More negative readings would indicate accelerating selling. A return above zero would indicate the cohort is accumulating again.Context Around the ReadingBitcoin recovered above $83,000 on Tuesday after dipping below $81,000, decoupling from a 6% fall in South Korea’s Kospi.CryptoQuant estimated spot demand shrank by about 170,000 BTC over the 30 days to late September, while US spot ETFs drew $6.34 billion across the third quarter — Bitcoin’s best quarter since the first quarter of 2024 at 42.7%.Wednesday’s US inflation report is the next scheduled catalyst, with economists expecting overall inflation at 3.6% and core at 2.4%.

Polygon Launches Automated Stablecoin Payments on Open Money Stack
Polygon announced on October 12 that its Open Money Stack, or OMS, has launched automated stablecoin payment runs. According to ChainCatcher, teams can set recipient ranges, payment budgets, and execution windows in advance, and the product sends payment requests when each cycle begins without requiring a new signature for every transfer. The preconfigured settings include approved payment actions and recipient ranges, project spending limits, execution windows and expiration times, as well as the ability to disable active rules. Wallets verify recipient ranges, spending limits, and expiration times on-chain, and teams can also close rules early to block the next payment request. The terms are recorded in the wallet's on-chain Sessions Module and enforced at the contract level. Once approved, the backend cannot expand recipient ranges, raise spending limits, or extend expiration times, and any request that exceeds the agreed terms will be rejected. The process is part of the same system used for deposits, stablecoin balances, and subsequent settlement routing.

Ethereum Name Service Proposes ENSv2 Activation With Irreversible Domain Migration
Ethereum Name Service has proposed activating ENSv2 without requiring existing .eth domain holders to migrate. According to NS3.AI, current holders could keep their names indefinitely by renewing them, while moving to the upgraded features would be permanent. The proposal still needs approval from the ENS decentralized autonomous organization, and ENS has not announced a launch date. Official guidance says annual fees for names with five or more characters would rise 60% to $8 from $5, and ENS expects a temporary suspension of new registrations during activation. Conflicting provisions in the proposal leave renewal availability during the transition uncertain.
