Few Days ago, got scammed, $8k was gone in less than few seconds. 💾 #ScamAlert

It was totally my fault, so let me save you from the same mistakes. Don't be like me.

âšĄïž Mistake 1 : Avoid Googling dApps, Use Bookmarks Instead + Check URL always.

Googled one of the main DeFi dApps and clicked on the first result.

Belive me, I use this dApp almost daily and everything seemed normal.

Unfortunately its a phishing website.

âšĄïž Mistake 2 - Signing transactions 📝

Made the mistake of trusting the website and being in a hurry to try out a new feature, Didn't pay attention 😑.

When I connected my MetaMask a "sign tx" message popped up.

I mindlessly accepted it without even bothering to read it.

Next I knew, my wallet was emptyyyy.

Obviously, signed a txn on a fake website/URL.

But it's something that could have happened to anyone, it was a recognized dApp & everything looked just the same but the URL... 💔

I won't mention the specific dApp because it's not their fault.

âšĄïžMistake 3: - Hot wallets đŸ”„

Most of my funds are protected in cold wallets to minimize this type of Scam.

However, I had a hot wallet to ape quickly & connect to different dApps easily.

😭 Today I learned there's something faster than aping with a hot wallet - losing money.

😭I feel like fool as I write this, I let this rat take my money, despite being here for 5year+.

😕I know all the ins and outs of protecting my funds, what to check, what to do & what to avoid.

😕Yet, here I am, paying the price for getting too coasy, rushing & overlooking details.
