Quant firms are competing to fund PhDs and build labs as the AI boom gives mathematicians and physicists new well-funded suitors, Bloomberg reported. The firms have long been lucrative destinations for scientific talent, and some of finance’s most secretive employers are making recruitment efforts increasingly public.
