📘 Crypto glossary - Market Cap vs FDV

Two numbers, two very different stories 👇

🔹 Market cap = price × coins already circulating. What the market values right now.

🔹 FDV (fully diluted valuation) = price × max supply. What it would be worth if every token were already unlocked.

⚠️ Why it matters: a big gap between the two means lots of tokens still to unlock. New supply can weigh on price if demand doesn't keep up.

✅ Quick check before you buy: compare market cap to FDV and look up the unlock schedule.

$BTC has a hard cap of 21M, so its FDV sits close to its market cap. Many new tokens don't.
