BlackRock submitted a registration statement to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on October 19 to launch an ETF with an initial loss threshold of approximately 10% per batch, Bitcoin.com News reported. The proposed iShares Bitcoin Managed Protection ETF would trade under the ticker PBIT. The fund intends to obtain Bitcoin-linked returns through options and fixed-income investments without directly holding Bitcoin or a Bitcoin ETF. The threshold does not guarantee that shareholder losses will be limited to 10%, and shareholders could lose some or all of their investment. The fund will limit potential gains by selling call options.
