Bitmine Adds Another 12,535 ETH, Bringing Its Ethereum Holdings Above 6 Million
Another week, another five-figure ETH purchase. But the bigger story is how much Ethereum one publicly traded company now holds.
On October 19, Bitmine Immersion Technologies announced that it had acquired an additional 12,535 ETH over the previous week, bringing its total holdings to 6,041,481 ETH as of October 18.
This is a new weekly purchase, not a repeat of the October 12 announcement, when Bitmine reported acquiring 12,532 ETH and holding 6,028,946 ETH.
How large is that position?
According to Bitmine, its Ethereum holdings represent approximately 4.9% of the estimated 122.1 million ETH supply.
That means a single publicly traded company reports holding nearly one in every 20 ETH in total supply.
The company also valued its combined crypto holdings, cash and other investments, including its so-called "moonshots," at approximately $15.1 billion. That figure is not the value of its ETH alone.
Its announcement used $2,365 per ETH as a valuation reference, rather than a live market quote.
Why does this matter?
Bitmine's continued accumulation illustrates how substantial corporate cryptocurrency treasuries can become.
Unlike a short-term trading position, a treasury holding of this size raises broader questions about corporate exposure to Ethereum, asset concentration and how large holders manage liquidity.
It also highlights an important distinction: a company's decision to accumulate ETH is evidence of its own treasury strategy, not proof that the wider market shares its outlook.
The next meaningful measure is whether Bitmine continues expanding its holdings and how its reported ETH balance changes in future disclosures.
