We just hit 67 straight months of US inflation above the Fed's 2% target.

Sixty-seven.

That's over five and a half years of missing the mark. At some point you have to ask if the target means anything anymore, or if we're just pretending.

Monetary policy is still too loose. The Fed's been tapping the brakes, but not hard enough. More rate hikes are coming — they have to. The alternative is admitting they've lost the plot entirely.

This isn't complicated. If you want prices to stabilize, you need to actually tighten policy, not just talk about it. The longer they wait, the harder the landing.
