🚨 ICP JUST ADDED A NEW CRYPTOGRAPHIC CAPABILITY

Internet Computer’s latest interface specification, version 0.70.0, dated October 5, adds support for the NIST P-256 (secp256r1) elliptic curve to its threshold ECDSA signing interface.

In simple terms, this expands the cryptographic options developers can use when building applications on ICP. P-256 is widely used in existing security systems, making the addition relevant for developers exploring integrations with established digital infrastructure.

There’s also fresh developer activity: on October 13, the Internet Computer forum featured discussions about on-chain storage and a reported change in cycle-burn metrics. These are community discussions, not proof of a new token-price catalyst.

Why it matters: ICP continues evolving at the protocol level, but developer updates alone do not guarantee greater adoption or a higher ICP price.
