BlackRock's tokenised money market fund has become the dominant player in the native real world asset (RWA) market on Aptos. According to figures shared by BSC News, about $157M of the $194M in native tokenised real world assets on @Aptos is made up of @BlackRock's $BUIDL fund. The same post noted that the product has an even larger presence on the @Avax L1 chain.

What BUIDL is and how it reached Aptos

The BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund (BUIDL), issued with tokenisation platform Securitize, became accessible on Aptos, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Optimism's OP Mainnet and Polygon in November 2024. The BUIDL token is backed by short-term U.S. government bonds and its price is anchored to $1. The fund aims to invest 100% of its total assets in cash, U.S. Treasury bills and repurchase agreements.

On fees, the management fee on Ethereum, Arbitrum and Optimism was 50 basis points at the time, while it was lower, at 20 basis points, on Aptos, Avalanche and Polygon.

Aptos has leaned on the fund before. In October 2025, PANews reported that Aptos said BUIDL had added another $500 million to the network, returning it to the top three in RWAs with over $1.2 billion in tokenised assets on-chain. The $194M native figure cited in the tweet is far below that earlier total, so the two numbers appear to use different measures or time frames. The tweet does not say which dataset it draws on.

Avalanche hosts an even larger BUIDL position

On Avalanche ($AVAX), the fund's footprint is larger still. The Defiant reported that BUIDL became the largest RWA on the network, with roughly $625 million as of May 25, driving Avalanche's distributed RWA total to a record $1.16 billion. The Defiant also noted that DefiLlama, which uses a different methodology, showed BUIDL on Avalanche at $414.4 million at the time of writing. That gap is a reminder that RWA totals vary by data provider.

Across all chains, RWA.xyz lists BUIDL's total asset value at $2.20B, down 19.46% from 30 days earlier. The page's snapshot may not reflect the latest figures, so readers should check the live dashboard.

The concentration matters for both networks. A single institutional product accounts for most of the native tokenised assets on Aptos, so changes in BUIDL allocations can move headline RWA totals quickly. The same dynamic applies on Avalanche.
